What is the difference between a divan and an ottoman bed base?
Both the ottoman bed base and the divan bed base take advantage of the space between the mattress and the floor.
The main difference is that, although both types of bed base are designed for storage, the divan bed base contains side drawers, whereas the solid base ottoman bed has a lid which lifts up to reveal storage space spanning the full surface area of the bed. The ottoman base makes use of either gas lift hydraulics or a spring lift mechanism, making it suitable for anyone, regardless of bodily strength.
For those who prefer storage drawers but still want the full range of storage space a double ottoman base offers, then a king size divan base with full-depth drawers may be the best option.
